Kea island wedding

A charming little island with genuine and authentic ambience. Kea is an hour boat trip from the port of Lavrio, which can be easily approached (half hour) by the Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”. There are daily ferry trips from Lavrio Port to Kea island and is also connected by ferry to the Piraeus port and the islands of Syros and Kythnos.

The venue: Just 2,5 km from the main port of the island located on the hill and overlooking the Aegean Sea. You can welcome your guests at sunset with a glass of champagne, dinner and party around the pool around the pool all night!

Wedding centerpiece tips and ideas

Wedding reception centerpieces with peonies, roses and olive leaves.

Wedding reception table decorations are the flourish of colour that transform a humble reception into a night to remember.
The colour and spice of a gorgeous wedding table setting are the hallmark of a truly memorable event and a signal to your friends and families that on this night, this is a magical place.
Wedding table design requires a little skill, coordination and some knowlegde of colour. If you plan carefully everything will glide into place. Don't over do the decorating, simplicity is the key. When in doubt, leave it out!!!
If you are having your reception at a hotel ballroom, a reception hall or restaurant, ask the venue; if they have anything in the form of table decorations or decorative table embellishments. As you are looking for wedding table ideas, this information will give you a head start.
They may perhaps have lovely metal or glass candlelabras or vases for each table, so you'll save money with not needing to hire them elsewhere. They may include them with the wedding reception package.
Have you ever been to a wedding were everything was white? Napkins, table cloths, white vases, white floral arrangement. It still works beautifully.
Personally I love a splash of colour or a combination of colours and textures. There is no need to for your wedding reception table decorations to be expensive. Simple wedding reception ideas are usually more classy and generally less expensive. They are also the easiest to coordinate and to get right.

FAQ: How far in advance should invitations send for a destination wedding?

Proper etiquette dictates that you give guests plenty of advanced notice if you’re planning a destination wedding. This way, they can check their finances, adjust work schedules, and make travel arrangements in a timely fashion. The first step is to send save-the-date cards as soon as you’ve decided to take your celebration afar. Your invitations should then be sent eight to ten weeks before the wedding. Include pertinent information, such as flight options, hotel room blocks if any, airport transportation, and a list of activities that may be of interest.

FAQ: How do you travel with a wedding dress?

It’s hard enough transporting your dress from the shop to your home, so what happens when you have to schlep halfway around the world? Here are your options.

Mail it. Yes, it may seem more convenient than carrying a huge garment bag around the airport, but there's always the risk of it getting lost in route.

Check it. You can also carefully pack your dress and check it with your other luggage. Unfortuantely, this also poses the risk of it getting lost.

Buy an extra seat. If your dress is very heavy and bulky, consider buying an extra seat on the plane so you can keep an eye on it at all times. It may look silly, and this option certainly has a large price tag, but if you paid thousands of dollars for your gown, it may be worth it.

Hang it up. Ask your airline if there’s a coat closet that’s big enough to accommodate your dress. If you choose this method, you’ll need to buy a fairly lightweight dress that can fit in the plane’s closet.

Location, Location, Location

You have the ring; you have set the date; now the task ahead is finding a venue that will accommodate your vision.
There are several aspects that you must take into consideration when deciding on your venue. First, what does the venue say about you and your beloved? Does it suit both your personalities? Can it accommodate your guests? Does the décor work with your theme, if you have one?
With so many locations to choose from, how do you go about choosing one? To begin, you both should visit each of your possible sites. Call for an appointment with each location’s manager, and take some time to outline your questions and concerns.
You also need to pay attention to the size of the location to make sure it can accommodate your entire guest list. If possible, you will want to see the location while there is another wedding going on; the space may look large when it is empty, but how does it look when it’s filled with tables, chairs, the band’s set-up, DJ equipment, and people?

It’s also important that you address the following questions and issues when searching for your wedding site:
• Parking/Transportation: Is the space accessible to public transportation? What is the parking situation? Is there a valet? Make sure the location is safe for all your guests to get to and from their cars.
• Event Planning: Will the site provide you with an event coordinator for your wedding day?
• Photography: Is there a location on the grounds to take photographs? If it is an indoor location, how is the lighting? How will your photos look?
• Package Price: What does the site-rental fee include? Catering, cake, décor, etc.? Schedule a meeting with the chef and pastry chef to discuss your menu. Make sure the décor suits you, your personality, and your theme. Find out if you can coordinate table settings, colors, and accessories.
• Backup Plan: If you have decided to have your wedding outdoors, does the location you’re considering have a backup site to accommodate you if there is a change of weather? Will you need to rent a tent from an outside vendor, or will your site take care of it?
• Payment: What are the payment arrangements? What is required once you decide to commit?
• Getting In: How far in advance of the wedding will you have access to the premises?
• Narrowing It Down: If possible, take photos of each location you visit, as well as obtain a promotional package for each.
Sit down with the photos and promotional materials and outline the pros and cons of each location you both “love” before signing any agreements. Comparing all the possibilities will enable you to rule out unsuitable choices, narrow down the list, and ultimately find the site that’s right for you. Note that it may take several visits to the “finalists” before you decide on and book your site. And remember, venues are generally booked nine months to one year in advance, so you don’t want to put your search off for too long.

Happy Hunting!
